Do I need to set up an account to attend one event?
Yes. Registering for an account makes it simple and easy for you to view, plan and manage your group affiliations and volunteer activities. It’s also the best way for group managers and event organizers to plan and track volunteer activity – and keep volunteers informed of important info and updates.
How do I register?
You can register on https://wevolunteer.openprogress.com by clicking on "Register" and then "Volunteer". You can then create your account in one of two ways:
  1. Use your Facebook login
  2. Enter your information in the fields provided
You’ll then be asked for additional details and preferences to help you find relevant groups and activities.
Confirm registration through email and you’re ready to go!
What if I don’t know which organization(s) I want to volunteer with?
You have the option to search for organizations of interest, or you can choose to skip this step.
You can always find new organizations and activities later.
I can’t find the organization I’m looking for – and I know it’s on WeVolunteer

Group Management
How do I know which groups I’ve already joined?
Activities from the groups you’ve joined will be available by searching for new activities. Additionally you can see all groups – including those you’re registered with – by clicking the green button “Find/Join New Groups” on the right side of the main page. Scroll through to see which you’ve signed up for.
How do I find and join new groups?

Each group has their own WeVolunteer page, which can you can share in several ways:
  1. Share on Facebook with one click, using the link provided.
  2. Copy and paste the tiny URL into any communication and social platform you like.
  3. Copy and paste the organization’s home page URL into any communication and social platform you like.
  4. Follow the organization on Facebook using the link provided, and all activity will show up in your feed.
Activity Management
How do I sign up for an activity?
There are three ways:
  1. Follow an event link you’ve been sent or found on your own.
  2. Follow a link to a group and register for the event(s) listed.
  3. Log in to < openvolunteer.com / volunteer.openprogress.com > and search for the event on the right side of the page. You can register directly from the results by clicking “Register” and confirming attendance on the activity detail page.
    *Be sure to click “Confirm Attendance”. You can then view and manage your activities from the main page.
How do I find additional activities that I may be interested in joining?
From the main page (you must be logged in) search for the event on the right side.
By clicking “Register” you can see the activity details and confirm attendance.
How do I know which activities I’ve signed up for?
On the main page (you must be logged in) you can see a list of the activities you’ve registered for.
This is on the left side below the calendar. Additionally, the calendar will display the date(s) and time(s) of your registered activities.
What if I can no longer attend an activity I’m registered for?
If you can no longer attend PLEASE unregister! This is extremely helpful for the activity organizers.
Follow these simple steps:
  1. Go to the main page (log in, if needed).
  2. Find the activity in the list under the calendar.
  3. Click “More Information & Details”.
  4. Click the red “No Longer Attending” button on the right side of the page.
    Note: If you synced your calendar it may take a few hours for the event to disappear.
How can I add activities to my personal calendar?
You can sync your activities by clicking the “Sync Now” button below the calendar. Copy the link and follow the instructions provided.
How can I share an activity with others?
Each activity page will include a unique tiny URL and one-click Facebook link.
You can use one or both options.
  1. Share on Facebook with one click, using the link provided.
  2. Copy and paste the tiny URL into any communication and social platform you like.
What if I want more information about an activity? How can I contact the organizer?
Access the activity detail from your list on the main page under the calendar, or directly from a link.
On the right side click the blue button, “Ask A Question.” Responses will go right to your inbox, accessible via the mail icon at the top right.
How will I be notified about any updates and changes?
ou will be alerted via the contact method(s) you’ve provided.
Note that some messages – including any replies sent via the site to activity organizers – may show up in your inbox. A number in a red circle will indicate how many unread messages you have. Simply click the mail icon at the top right to access all messages.
